President Droupadi Murmu conveyed her warm wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of the inauguration of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. In a two-page letter, she commended the Prime Minister’s impending ‘Pran Pratistha’ ceremony, describing it as a significant moment in India’s civilizational journey.
President Murmu acknowledged the prime minister’s 11-day rigorous ‘anushthan’ as not just a sacred ritual but a supreme spiritual act of sacrifice and submission to Lord Ram. She expressed her heartfelt wishes, highlighting the nationwide celebratory atmosphere surrounding the inauguration as an uninhibited expression of India’s eternal soul and the beginning of a new cycle in the nation’s resurgence.
The president emphasized the universal values embodied by Lord Ram, such as courage, compassion, and a constant focus on duty, which would be brought closer to the people through the magnificent temple. She described Lord Ram as representing the best aspects of India’s cultural and spiritual heritage, symbolizing the eternal battle between good and evil.
President Murmu drew parallels between Mahatma Gandhi’s strength derived from Ramanama and Lord Ram, quoting Gandhi’s acknowledgment of truth as Rama. She pointed out that Lord Ram’s message of treating everyone with love and dignity, irrespective of their social background, resonated with pathbreaking thinkers and influenced the governance outlook of the country.
Referring to Prime Minister Modi’s recent release of benefits to vulnerable tribal communities under the PM-JANMAN initiative, the president commended the focus on justice and the welfare of the people. She noted the prime minister’s invocation of Mata Shabari on that occasion and expressed confidence that Mata Shabari would be pleased to witness the inauguration of Prabhu Shri Ram’s temple along with the welfare initiatives.
President Murmu concluded her letter by describing Lord Ram as an embodiment of all that is good about India and humanity. She wished for Lord Ram to guide the world on the right path, bringing peace and bliss to everyone.
