Rakesh Tikait calls for Bharat Bandh on Feb 16

PRAYAGRAJ

Kisan Union’s national spokesperson Chaudhary Rakesh Tikait said that the price of sugarcane announced today by the Uttar Pradesh government is not enough. Farmers are disappointed with the increase of only Rs 20. The farmers of the state were expecting the sugarcane price to be declared above Rs 400, because the expenditure on farming is increasing every day. In proportion to this, farmers are not getting fair price for their crops.

He was addressing the Kisan Mahapanchayat organized at Magh Mela Prayagraj. He said that  In this view we all  have to come together to strengthen the village units under our districts. The work of the youth unit in the organization is not to submit memorandum on problems. He should work closely with senior officials.

National spokesperson further called for  Bharat Bandh on 16th February, the farmers of the country will not do all the farming work for one day. Kisan Union will also  take out tractor parade at block and tehsil level across the country on 26th January. Because we had also taken out a tractor parade during the farmers’ movement in Delhi.

He said that the Bharatiya Kisan Union will organize a one-day Kisan Mahapanchayat on March 14 in the country’s capital Delhi with all its pending demands.

Rakesh Tikait said that the future of farmers will be decided by the movement, not the government. Earlier, the national spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Chaudhary Rakesh Tikait said that the future of the farmers will be decided by the movement, not the government.

He said that our organization is apolitical. We have no active role in the Lok Sabha elections. The policies of Modi government are anti-farmer. Whoever forms the government at the Centre, it will have to listen to the voice of the farmers. Capitalism is dominating the country. Farmers’ children do not have employment. They are making their living by selling land. Farmers get the lowest level of health facilities. Under compulsion, lakhs of farmers are becoming landless and becoming labourers. The government is gathering an army of workers.

Gaurav Tikait of Bharatiya Kisan Union, National General Secretary Rajveer Singh Jadaun, President of Uttar Pradesh Rajpal Sharma, Youth State President Uttar Pradesh Anuj Singh, National Secretary Ghanshyam Verma, President of Western Uttar Pradesh Pawan Khatana. The Panchayat was presided over by Shaligram Yadav ji and conducted by National General Secretary Ompal Malik ji.
