The members of the Upper House are likely to hold discussions on the prevailing economic situation of the country as the Parliament reconvenes for Day 2 of the ongoing Winter Session on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the Rajya Sabha Members of Parliament, namely Ayodhya Rami Reddy, Birendra Prasad Baishya, Ghanshyam Tiwari, Lakshmikant Bajpayee, Sushil Kumar Modi, Aditya Prasad, and Shambhu Sharan Patel, are scheduled to initiate the discussion on the “economic situation in the country” in the Upper House.
Two Bills were passed on Monday, the first day of the Winter Session of Parliament, and the Rajya Sabha also decided to end AAP MP Raghav Chadha’s suspension.

The Standing Committee reports on ‘The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023’, ‘The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023’, and ‘The Bharatiya Sakshya Bill, 2023’ were tabled in the two Houses.
Brij Lal, the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs related to the Department, presented the reports to Jagdeep Dhankhar, the chairman of the Rajya Sabha on November 10.
The government has put the three bills on the schedule for the winter session of Parliament’s passage.
Despite being on the stated agenda, the Ethics Committee’s report, which examined claims of cash-for-query made against Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, was not presented in the Lok Sabha.
The bill to repeal the Indian Post Office Act of 1898 and to combine and amend the laws pertaining to post offices in India was approved by the Rajya Sabha.
Members of the opposition questioned some of the bill’s provisions and inquired as to whether the government intended to establish a “surveillance state.”

The government rejected the apprehensions of the members. Minister of State for Communications Devusinh Chauhan said provisions have been made for reasons of national security and there were similar provisions in the previous version of the Post Office Bill too.
The winter session will continue until December 22.
