Rajput Community Calls For ‘Rajasthan Bandh’ Over The Murder Of Karni Sena Chief

A state-wide lockdown was demanded by the Rajput community on Wednesday in response to the killing of Karni Sena Chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.
Unidentified bike-borne criminals shot and killed Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the chief of the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, in Jaipur on Tuesday.

The crowd will only grow if those responsible are not apprehended, according to Bhawani Singh Kalvi, the son of Karni Sena founder Lokendra Singh Kalvi, who is demanding immediate action in the case. Kalvi called on all party leaders to show unity, stating that the incident transcends political boundaries and that everyone is expecting the government to move quickly to resolve the matter.

Protester Kalyan Singh Jadhav blasted the Rajasthani government over the incident, saying, “It is a tight slap on the government of Rajasthan. The incident is very unfortunate.” Until justice is served and the guilty are brought to justice, we will not stop protesting.”

In the meantime, BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla posted a video of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi and asserted that the Gehlot Government had decreased the victim’s security.
“Congress has a caretaker government in place right now. BJP government is not in office. Also, the security of the said victim was reduced by Gehlot”, Poonawalla claimed in a post on X.

“…He was murdered yesterday. The entire state of Rajasthan is stunned and sad…This was avoidable. There is Congress government in Rajasthan. He was continuously receiving threats and he had sought enhanced security but it wasn’t done. This was the responsibility of the State Government but we know their attitude. Law & order is zero in Rajasthan. What has happened is wrong…The matter should be taken up in fast-track court and they should be given the strictest of punishments…This was planned, it didn’t happen overnight…Was the State Government sleeping? Didn’t they know about it? This means that this is a complete intelligence & law and order failure”, BJP leader Diya Kumari said.

On the other hand, Congress leader Pramod Tiwari blamed the newly elected BJP Government over the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.

“I strongly condemn the incident but if this is the beginning of BJP then what will happen next?”, Congress’ Pramod Tiwari said.

However, raids are being carried out at the potential hiding places of the miscreants, according to Rajasthan DGP Umesh Mishra. “One of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s bodyguards was shot, as well. An accused who was among the murderers was also shot dead. Raids are being carried out at potential miscreant hideouts. The Haryana DG has been contacted, and help has been requested. The murder was committed by the Rohit Godara gang, and they will soon be put into custody, according to the Rajasthan DGP.
