BJP MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh launched a scathing attack on the Congress party via social media platform X, accusing it of siding with Iran—a nation he labelled as a supporter of terrorism and a nuclear threat to global peace—while unfairly targeting Israel, a democratic ally.
In his strongly worded post, Dr Singh condemned Congress for what he called a ‘dangerous and shameful’ position.
“While the world is united against terrorism, Congress stands with the merchants of death,” he wrote. “A nuclear-armed Iran is not a friend—it is an enemy of humanity.”
Dr Singh objected to Congress referring to Iran as an ‘old friend’, urging the public to recall Iran’s past behaviour toward India:
Dr Singh accused the Congress party of aligning with Tehran-backed terror networks, even as nations like the US, Israel, and Europe act against them.
“Congress’s support for Iran is not national interest—it is selfish appeasement politics,” he said.
The MLA defended Israel’s military actions, calling its self-defence a ‘moral duty to protect the world from nuclear blackmail’.
“Iran, armed with nuclear weapons, is not just a threat to Israel but a crisis for the entire world,” Singh said. “Israel’s policy of self-defence is a global effort to save humanity from nuclear extortion.”
Appealing for bipartisan support, Dr Singh urged all nationalist parties, leaders, and citizens to reject the Congress party’s stance.
“This is not about Left vs Right. It’s about right vs wrong, and terror vs humanity,” he stated. “No ideology or political interest should ever justify supporting nations that shelter or promote terrorism.”
