During his visit to Banswara, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects spanning Rs 1.22 lakh crore.
Addressing the gathering, he criticised the Congress for long-standing neglect of the power sector, stating, “There was not even an electricity poll in 18,000 villages when we came to power in 2014. The Congress ignored the power sector, and long power cuts were the norm in both cities and villages.”
PM Modi added that under his government, electricity restoration is no longer news and linked energy access to national development, highlighting India’s growing energy capabilities and ambitions.
Among the landmark projects, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Rs 42,000 crore Mahi-Banswara nuclear plant.
In addition, he inaugurated 15 drinking water projects across Rajasthan, worth Rs 5,884 crore, aimed at providing safe and reliable water to citizens.
These projects will strengthen infrastructure, create employment, and enhance welfare in Rajasthan, while also benefiting Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and other states.
As part of a significant employment push, PM Modi handed over appointment letters to 15,000 youths for various government roles, including 5,778 animal attendants, 4,197 junior assistants, 1,800 junior instructors, 1,464 junior engineers, and 1,200 third-grade teachers (Level-2), along with other positions and compassionate appointments.
The Prime Minister also flagged off three new trains via video conferencing: the Bikaner–Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express, Jodhpur–Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express, and the Udaipur City–Chandigarh Express, improving connectivity and supporting regional development.
During the visit, PM Modi interacted with beneficiaries of the Kusum Yojana, underscoring his government’s commitment to clean energy and rural empowerment.
These initiatives reflect the broader vision of sustainable development and social upliftment.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the Congress’s previous mismanagement and corruption in Rajasthan are being corrected under the BJP government.
PM Modi described the projects as the beginning of a new chapter in India’s energy sector, reinforcing the country’s growth trajectory and focus on infrastructure, employment, and welfare.
The event also paid tribute to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s vision of ‘Antyodaya’, emphasising the upliftment of the most marginalised sections of society.
PM Modi’s visit to Banswara marks a landmark occasion for southern Rajasthan, combining energy, infrastructure, and employment initiatives.
Projects worth over Rs 1.22 lakh crore will drive socio-economic transformation in the region, showcasing India’s growing capabilities and commitment to inclusive development.
