The Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) has unveiled its first list of ten candidates for the upcoming assembly elections, in which party convenor and Lok Sabha MP Hanuman Beniwal will also run from the Khinvsar seat.
According to the party list, sitting Bhopalgarh MLA Pukhraj Garg, and Merta MLA Indira Devi Bawri will run for office.
Narayan Beniwal, the MP’s brother, Khinvsar MLA. Khinvsar’s party has not handed him a ticket. His name is nowhere to be found on this list.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the RLP was a constituent of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), however, they split after the Centre passed the contentious farm laws.
Lachharam Badrada of Parbatsar, Revatram Panwar of Kolayat, Badrilal Jat of Sahada, Umedaram Beniwal of Baytu, Lalchand Mund of Sardarshahar, Mahesh Saini of Sanganer and Ajay Trivedi of Jodhpur city have been issued tickets by the RLP.
Hanuman Beniwal was elected to the Khinvsar assembly in 2018. However, in 2019, he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Nagaur. Narayan Beniwal of the RLP won the by-election.
The RLP has announced an alliance with Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) led by Chandrashekhar Azad for the state assembly election in 2023.
Earlier this month, Hanuman Beniwal stated that the RLP hopes to compete for about 100 of Rajasthan’s 200 assembly seats.
Rajasthan will hold elections on November 25, 2023. The votes will be counted on December 3, 2023.
