Rajasthan: Anti-Trafficking Unit Rescues Minor Girl Missing For Five Months

In a significant breakthrough, Rajasthan’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit successfully rescued a minor orphaned girl who had been missing from Kota city for nearly five months. She was located in Baran district on Friday, concluding a search that had seen extensive efforts from local law enforcement.

The rescue operation followed a complaint filed on June 17 by a resident of Dabi, who reported that his young cousin had gone missing after leaving her rented home in Kota on June 10. Acting on this, Kota City SP Amrita Duhan led a police team that initially launched a search operation, analyzing CCTV footage from the area, tracing call details, and scanning social media for any potential leads. Despite these efforts, the investigation yielded few clues, prompting authorities to announce a Rs 5,000 reward for information on the girl’s whereabouts.

Determined to locate her, police formed a special team under the guidance of the Additional Superintendent of Police, Women Crime and Research Cell, and the in-charge of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit. The team widely circulated the girl’s photo and details of the reward across social media and mainstream outlets to generate public awareness.

The case took a positive turn in October when information surfaced that the girl had been spotted at a market in Baran. Further inquiries confirmed her presence in Kunj Vihar Colony, Baran. Acting swiftly, the special team arrived at the location, ultimately finding the missing girl outside a residential house.

Following her rescue, the team brought her back to Kota, where she was handed over to officials at the Udyognagar police station for further investigation. Once formalities were completed, the girl was transferred to a rehabilitation home for women, ensuring she receives necessary care and support.
