A railway employee was brutally beaten to death by passengers on a Humsafar Express train on the charge of molesting an 11-year-old girl. The incident occurred in the M 1 coach of the 02563 Humsafar Express clone, which was traveling from Barauni to Delhi.
The victim’s family was traveling in seats 12 to 15 of the coach. The railway employee, Prashant Kumar, allegedly made the girl sit on his seat and molested her. The girl started crying and informed her mother about the incident. The mother alerted other passengers and family members, who confronted Prashant.
The enraged passengers dragged Prashant Kumar from Lucknow to Kanpur Central station, beating him severely along the way. The GRP intervened and took the injured employee to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
