Rail Connectivity & Facilities Expanding Rapidly Across India: Anupriya Patel At Karchana Station Inauguration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday virtually inaugurated 103 redeveloped railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Yojana, including Karchana station in Prayagraj.

Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Chemicals and Fertilisers, Anupriya Singh Patel, attended the local event as chief guest.

The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony.

Divisional Railway Manager Rajneesh Aggarwal and Additional Divisional Railway Manager Sanjay Singh welcomed the guests with planters. Rajneesh Aggarwal said the redevelopment cost ₹9.8 crore.

Karchana station now has a new building and an extra platform. The station lies on the Delhi–Howrah route and will soon support trains at 160 kmph.

Railways built a foot overbridge for safe movement. Passengers can now easily move between platforms.

The new building has a modern and attractive look. Officials said the design will offer passengers a better experience.

Anupriya Patel Praises Rail Development

Anupriya Patel said India is redeveloping over 1,300 Amrit Bharat stations.

Today, 103 were inaugurated. Of these, 19 are in Uttar Pradesh.

The state will get 157 redeveloped stations in total. She said the Prime Minister aims to make India a developed country by 2047.

The Railways play a big role in this. She noted big changes in the last 11 years.

India is building the Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train. It also runs modern trains like Vande Bharat and Namo Bharat.

Railways installed anti-collision technology on 15,000 km of tracks. They also laid 30,000 km of new track.

She urged people to keep stations clean. “The station is yours, so is the responsibility,” she said.

New Station To Help Local Growth

Prayagraj Mayor Umesh Kesarwani said the new station would boost trade and education.

MP Praveen Patel said the new waiting rooms and open areas will help passengers. He called the station a symbol of progress.

Children performed cultural programmes. Patel gave awards to winners of a painting contest.

The topics were ‘My Amrit Station’ and ‘Operation Sindoor – Example of Bravery’.

Later, people joined a rally with the national flag to honour brave soldiers.

Divisional Commercial Manager Himanshu Shukla and Chief Loco Inspector Vasudev Pandey conducted the programme.

Senior railway officials, Air Force Group Captain Lalit Kumar Taneja, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and many locals attended.
