Rahul In Paradise: ‘Perfect Vacation’ in Gulmarg After Completion Of Bharat Jodo Yatra

On the first day of a two-day personal visit, Congressman Rahul Gandhi was spotted skiing down the slopes of Gulmarg in Jammu & Kashmir. A video posted on Twitter had the caption, “As a reward, Rahul Ji treating himself to a perfect vacation in Gulmarg after successful Bharat Jodo Yatra.”

Mr. Gandhi could be seen zig-zagging down the spotless slope at the Gulmarg ski resort, flanked by instructors, as the teacher encouragingly recorded the video. On his trip to Gulmarg Ski Resort, 52 kilometers from Srinagar, the former president of the Congress made a quick stop at Tangmarg town. Yesterday, multiple photos of Gandhi in north Kashmir appeared online.

The former leader of the Congress rejected media questions. When pressed for a comment, all he could come up with was “Namaskar.” The Congress leader gave his security guards a hard time as he posed for photographs with a group of enthusiastic tourists before moving downhill.

“I met Rahul Gandhi here. He had come here for skiing. I met him at a close distance, but due to security, I had to retreat. He also came to enjoy, and so did we,” a tourist from Nashik said while speaking to the media  houses

Another tourist who also hailed from Nashik said, “We came to know that Rahul Gandhi is coming here, so we were waiting for three hours. We had only seen him in pictures. All of us wanted a selfie with him but there were a lot of crowds. We were not allowed due to security that we will get a chance to get a selfie later on.”

According to Pradesh Congress Committee officials, Mr. Gandhi is in the area on a personal visit and will likely attend a private event there.

Rahul Gandhi completed the Bharat Jodo Yatra last month after traveling 3,970 kilometers. The Kanyakumari-to-Kashmir foot march of the Congress, which was led by Rahul Gandhi and started at Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, on September 7, 2022, ended on January 30. 75 districts across 12 states and two Union territories were crossed during the march. A gathering at the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) headquarters in Kashmir’s Lal Chowk neighborhood and a large demonstration at the stadium marked the yatra’s conclusion.

Throughout the yatra, Gandhi held 13 news conferences, over 100 corner meetings, and other events.
