Quad Meet: PM Modi On Visit To US From Sep 21 To 23

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to begin his visit to US to attend Quad meet. Sharing PM’s US itinerary, the External Affairs Ministry announced about PM’s visit to United State.

Along with attending Quad meeting in Delaware, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri informed, in a press briefing on Thursday, about the bilateral meet of Biden and Prime Minister Modi in the sideline of Quad meet.

The prime highlight of the Modi’s visit to US is the Quad meeting. The Quad meet is scheduled to take place on September 21 in Wilmington of Delaware. President Biden hosted the meet at his home town. PM Modi’s visit to US is also a significant event as Biden is not running for second term in the office. When next Quad meet is held in India, Biden would not remain on chair.

Significant Agreements During the Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden is expected to exchange agreements related to Indo-Pacific Economic Framework and India-US Drug Framework.

‘Modi & US’ Progress Together’, PM to Address Indian Diaspora

Prime Minister is scheduled to address Indian diaspora in New York in Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, September 22. A report of Indian news agency revealed that over 24 thousand people from India diaspora in America signed-up for the even name, ‘Modi & US’ Progress Together’.

To Address UN Summit of Future and CEOs After Quad Meet

PM is expected to address a UN summit of future at United Nation General Assembly in New York before a large number of global leaders. This year, the theme of the Summit is ‘Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow’.

Additionally PM will also meet the CEO’s of leading US-based companies. The particular meet aims to foster greater collaboration between two countries in the areas of AI, Semiconductor, Biotechnology and Quantum Computing, the ministry of External Affairs confirmed.

On the sideline of the meetings PM will meet the representatives of two other member countries, Australia and Japan, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Prime Minister Kishida respectively.

It is important to note, former US President Donald Trump at a campaign event announced that he will meeting PM Modi during his visit to US for Quad meet, however MEA has not confirmed so.
