The renowned Pushkala Sangeet Kendra, situated in Malviya Nagar, New Delhi, recently completed a decade of artistic service.
To commemorate this remarkable journey, the institution conducted its annual examinations under the affiliation of Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Prayagraj. With participants from across India, the event became a musical celebration, blending discipline with devotion.
Students from various age groups took part in the examination, presenting their skills in vocal music, instrumental performances, and Indian classical dance forms. These performances embodied years of tireless dedication and practice.
Held in a manner reminiscent of the traditional Gurukul system, the exams focused on preserving the sanctity of classical education, with students delivering commendable renditions of ragas, talas, and techniques.
Ustad Shahrookh Ahmed, a respected tabla maestro, elevated this year’s celebration by officiating as the examiner.
Trained by his father Ustad Sarfaraz Ahmed and grandfather Ustad Fazal Ahmed Khan, and later mentored by Ajrada Gharana stalwart Ustad Manzoor Hasan Sahab, Shahrookh Ahmed has performed alongside legends such as Ustad Ali Abbas Khan. His presence added immense value to the occasion.

Among the standout performances was that of Lovisha, a differently-abled child whose clear and melodious voice moved the audience deeply.
