Punjab Politics: War of Words Between Rahul Gandhi and Bhagwant Mann ‘Rahul Gandhi has no moral right to say anything about democracy or democratic dignity’

Punjab Politics: During the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attacked the Aam Aadmi. Rahul Gandhi also advised CM Bhagwant Mann. Rahul Gandhi says ‘that you (Bhagwant Mann) should work here independently, and should not be anyone’s remote control’. On this statement of Rahul Gandhi, now CM Bhagwant Mann has retaliated and reminded him of making Charanjit Singh Channi the CM.

Countering the statements of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that Rahul should look into his neck before making such baseless statements. The Chief Minister replied and says  ‘Rahul Gandhi has no moral right to say anything about democracy or democratic dignity’. Bhagwant Mann says ‘Rahul Gandhi had made Charanjit Singh Channi the Chief Minister, whereas I have been elected by the people to serve’.

Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, the Chief Minister replied with his statement, “You (Rahul Gandhi) had removed the elected CM Captain Amarinder Singh by humiliating them in two minutes.” He further added, “It is also sad that the Punjab Congress chief is being pushed during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Rahul Gandhi, you don’t look good saying all this.”

Rahul Gandhi told Mann to be a ‘remote’ CM

Earlier, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, while targeting CM Bhagwant Mann and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, says, “Punjab should be run from Punjab only. Punjab should not be run from Delhi. I want to tell Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann that you should not come under the pressure of Arvind Kejriwal. You should work here independently..should not be anyone’s remote control. After finishing his speech, he again came on the mike to emphasize that when the Congress was in power in Punjab, it followed the practice that Punjab should be run from here.
