Public Anger Is Forcing Congress To Change Karnataka CM, Says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday asserted that mounting public dissatisfaction with the Congress government in Karnataka had pushed the party towards considering a change in the Chief Minister’s position.

Addressing a public gathering in Surat, the Prime Minister referred to Karnataka while criticising Congress and commenting on political developments in states governed by the opposition. He stated that widespread resentment among citizens had created pressure on the party leadership.

“There is also considerable anger among the people of Karnataka regarding the Congress government. That is why Congress is being compelled to change its Chief Minister there,” he said.

PM Modi made the remarks while discussing recent political trends and electoral outcomes across several states. He earlier cited local body election results in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab, claiming that voters had delivered unfavourable verdicts against Congress.

The Prime Minister said the nation increasingly preferred stability, effective governance and development-driven policies. He argued that people rejected anarchy, uncertainty and pessimism in favour of progress and economic advancement.

“The country does not like anarchy, uncertainty, and pessimism. India’s political landscape was being shaped by public aspirations for development and economic progress,” he said.

According to PM Modi, citizens now expect governments to prioritise infrastructure, connectivity, employment generation and improved public services. He contrasted these expectations with what he described as opposition attempts to secure political gains through criticism and disruption.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth Rs 18,800 crore in Surat. He also reviewed industrial activities in Hazira.

Key projects included the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway, connectivity initiatives in tribal regions and healthcare investments such as a new ESIC hospital.

PM Modi concluded his address by saying that India had moved beyond negativity. He said the country had entered an era defined by ambition, confidence and determination.

“India has moved far beyond negativity. The citizens of India are full of dreams, full of resolve, and committed to transforming that resolve into achievement,” he noted.

The Prime Minister added that the nation could achieve its development objectives when governments and citizens worked together, with public aspirations driving the country’s progress.
