Prayagraj: Bhadohi police reached Prayagraj and Allahpur locality on Wednesday and confiscated the property of former MLA Vijay Mishra worth crores. An announcement was also made regarding the same. Before this, properties worth crores of many close to the mafia as well as daughter Seema Mishra and nephew former block chief Manish Mishra have also been confiscated.All these properties are in different areas of Prayagraj city. According to the police, all this mafia property has been acquired from the money made through criminal activities.
The building of the old Saket Hospital located in Allapur of Prayagraj was attached by the Bhadohi police on Wednesday. This property is said to belong to the former powerful MLA of Gyanpur, Vijay Mishra. Vijay Mishra is currently in jail. Various criminal cases are registered against him in many districts of UP including Bhadohi and Prayagraj. The said action has been taken by Bhadohi Police under the Gangster Act.
Former MLA Vijay Mishra has 83 cases registered against him including murder, robbery, snatching, assault, property grabbing, and rape. Presently he is serving a sentence in a rape case in Agra jail. Police is continuously taking action against his family and close ones. The police has been continuously confiscating his properties acquired through crime.
On March 15, in the court of Bhadohi District Magistrate Vishal Singh, Baghambari Home Institute Scheme Building No. 48 of Prayagraj, a three-storey building with modern facilities, which was being operated in the name of Saket Hospital. An order was given to confiscate it. The estimated cost of this building is Rs 35 crore five lakh. It was purchased by Vijay Mishra in the name of his son-in-law Harishankar Mishra. The magistrate said that the former MLA is running it as a hospital to legalize his illegal money.
