Prime Minister Narendra Modi To Inaugurate Major Infrastructure Projects In Kerala & Andhra Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Kerala and Andhra Pradesh on Friday to launch and dedicate significant infrastructure and development initiatives.

The Prime Minister’s first stop will be Kerala, where he will likely arrive at approximately 10:30 AM.

In the state, PM Modi will inaugurate the Vizhinjam International Deepwater Multipurpose Seaport, a monumental ₹8,900 crore project.

This port is India’s first dedicated container transshipment hub and is strategically located near one of the world’s busiest maritime trade routes, boasting a natural depth of 20 meters.

This development is likely to bolster India’s role in global shipping and trade logistics.

An official statement stated, “It is the country’s first dedicated container transshipment port that represents the transformative advancements being made in India’s maritime sector as part of the unified vision of Viksit Bharat.”

After completing his engagements in Kerala, Prime Minister Modi will proceed to Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, where he is likely to arrive around 3:30 PM.

In Amaravati, PM Modi will dedicate, inaugurate, and lay the foundation stones for several projects worth over ₹58,000 crore.

Key Highway Projects To Enhance Road Connectivity

Among the major projects is the completion of seven National Highway initiatives, including highway widening, road overbridges, and elevated corridors aimed at improving travel and logistics efficiency across state borders.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will dedicate various railway infrastructure projects.

“Prime Minister will also dedicate to the nation railway projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and boosting capacity. These projects are a doubling of the rail line between Bugganapalle Cement Nagar and Panyam stations, enhancing connectivity between Rayalaseema and Amaravati and construction of a third rail line between New West Block Hut Cabin and Vijayawada stations,” the statement added.

Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation for six more National Highway projects and a railway initiative.

The statement further noted, “These projects include widening of various sections of National Highways; construction of elevated corridor, half clover leaf and road overbridge, among others. These projects will improve connectivity, interstate travel, reduce congestion and improve overall logistics efficiency. Construction of Rail over Rail line between Guntakal West and Mallappa gate stations aims to bypass freight trains and reduce congestion at the Guntakal Junction.”
