Scheduled to visit Varanasi on 18 June, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will mark his first visit to the city since the formation of the third NDA government at the Centre, holding significance as he will address a farmers’ conference during his time in the region.
Dilip Patel, the BJP Kashi region president, confirmed the Prime Minister’s forthcoming visit, highlighting its importance in the wake of the renewed tenure of the NDA government.
Patel emphasized the significance of the Prime Minister’s engagement with the farming community, underscoring the government’s commitment to addressing agricultural issues.
Navratan Rathi, the media in-charge for the BJP in the Kashi region, revealed that preparations are underway to select a suitable venue for the farmers’ conference.
The conference may take place in either the Rohania or Sevapuri Assembly constituency.
Before the Prime Minister’s visit, Varanasi BJP office-bearers convened a meeting at the party office in Gulab Bagh. The meeting aimed to strategize and coordinate efforts for the smooth conduct of the visit.
Discussions centered around logistical arrangements and ensuring a conducive environment for the Prime Minister’s engagement with the local community.
Following the farmers’ conference, Prime Minister Modi is expected to pay homage at the revered Baba Kashi Vishwanath temple and partake in the Ganga Aarti at the Dashashwamedh Ghat.
The spiritual engagements symbolize the Prime Minister’s deep-rooted connection with the cultural ethos of Varanasi.
The visit holds promise for fostering greater dialogue between the government and the farming community, addressing their concerns, and reaffirming the administration’s commitment to agricultural welfare.
It also underscores the Prime Minister’s personal connection with Varanasi, a constituency that holds symbolic significance in his political journey.
