Prime Minister Narendra Modi Offers Chadar At Ajmer Sharif Dargah During 812th Urs

The 812th Urs commenced at the Dargah of the renowned Garib Nawaz Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishti in the sacred city of Ajmer, Rajasthan. This Urs serves as an exemplary demonstration of communal harmony and national unity, drawing thousands of pilgrims from across the country to visit Khwaja’s Dargah. Pilgrims offered prayers, presenting sheets, and flowers of Aqidat at the tomb. The upcoming event includes the offering of Prime Minister Modi’s chadar at Mazar Sharif.

PM Modi Presents Chadar to Ajmer Sharif

On January 11, Prime Minister Modi handed over a bedsheet to a special delegation of the Muslim community, represented by the BJP Minority Morcha in his office. Union Minority Minister Smt. Smriti Irani, Delhi State Haj Committee Chairperson Mohtarma Kausar Jahan, and other dignitaries graced the occasion. This delegation will present the chadar in Ajmer on behalf of PM Modi.

PM Modi’s 10th Chadar Offering This Year

PM Modi, showcasing respect for Islam, annually sends a chadar to Ajmer Sharif Dargah. This year marks the 10th time he offers the chadar. In the previous year, Modi had sent a saffron-colored bedsheet. Former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi had presented the chadar earlier in Modi’s government.

PM Modi’s Message Last Year

Accompanying the sheet last year, PM Modi conveyed a message, “On the occasion of Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, congratulations and best wishes to his followers across the world. I pay tribute to the great Sufi saint who sent the message of love, harmony, and brotherhood to the world. A sheet for Ajmer Sharif Dargah on the annual Urs.” The rich heritage of India lies in the harmonious co-existence of different sects, beliefs, and faiths. Saints, pirs, and fakirs have consistently enriched the cultural fabric of our country through the message of peace, unity, and goodwill. Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti symbolizes the great spiritual traditions of India.
