Prime Minister Modi To Launch Key Initiatives In Wardha, Maharashtra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Wardha in Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region on Friday to participate in the ‘National PM Vishwakarma Programme,’ celebrating one year of progress under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma scheme. During the event, PM Modi will issue certificates and release loans to beneficiaries, symbolizing the government’s support for artisans.

In a show of appreciation for their contributions, the Prime Minister will also distribute credit to 18 beneficiaries across various trades. Additionally, he will unveil a commemorative stamp to mark the scheme’s first anniversary, which aims to enhance the quality and reach of artisan products and services, integrating ‘Vishwakarmas’ into both domestic and global value chains.

Furthermore, PM Modi will lay the foundation for the PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Amravati. The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) is developing this 1,000-acre park as part of a broader initiative approved by the Central government to establish seven PM MITRA Parks, which aim to transform India into a global hub for textile manufacturing and exports. Officials emphasize that these facilities will foster world-class industrial infrastructure, attract significant investments, and stimulate innovation and job creation in the sector.

The Prime Minister will also launch the Maharashtra government’s “Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Centre” scheme, which aims to establish training centers at prominent colleges throughout the state. This initiative will provide skill development training for youth aged 15 to 45, enabling them to become self-reliant and enhancing their employment prospects. Approximately 150,000 youths will receive free training each year under this program.

Additionally, PM Modi will introduce the “Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Women Startup Scheme,” designed to provide early-stage support to women-led startups in Maharashtra.

This visit underscores the government’s commitment to empowering artisans, promoting skill development, and fostering entrepreneurship in the region.
