On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the second batch of the Vande Bharat Express train in Telangana.
The Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express is the second Vande Bharat train in the state, connecting Lord Venkateswara’s temple at Tirupati with Hyderabad’s IT City. The railway will cut the travel time between the two cities by over three and a half hours, benefiting pilgrims as well.
PM Modi arrived in Telangana today, where he was greeted by Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, among others. Among those present were Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Minister for Culture and Tourism G Kishan Reddy.
PMO India tweeted, “Prime Minister landed in Hyderabad a short while ago. He was received by Governor @DrTamilisaiGuv and other dignitaries”, through its official Twitter handle.
The prime minister is in the southern state to dedicate and officially launch projects amounting to more than Rs. 11,300 crores, including the AIIMS at Bibinagar.
PM Modi attended a public gathering in Secunderabad’s Parade Ground in the southern state.
Moreover, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the renovation of the Secunderabad railway station. PM Modi stated earlier in a tweet that the new terminal will help the local economy.
PM Narendra Modi tweeted, “An important infrastructure upgradation project due to which countless people will benefit”, through his official Twitter handle.
The day following his visit to Hyderabad, PM Modi is expected to depart for Tamil Nadu.
