Amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha election 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed a public rally in Mahabubnagar, Telangana.
With fervent energy, Modi launched into a scathing critique of the Congress party. The PM accused them of adopting a tepid stance towards racism. He also vehemently opposed their celebration of Indian cultural ethos, notably the veneration of Lord Ram.
In his address, Modi emphasized the enduring relevance of the ‘Idea of India’, deeply rooted in the nation’s ancient heritage.
He articulated that this idea encapsulates core values such as truth, non-violence, and the ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family). He emphasized equitable justice for all, without favoritism towards any particular group.
At the core of Modi’s speech was his criticism of the Congress party, which he accused of failing to grasp the essence of the ‘Idea of India’.
He vehemently denounced Congress’ opposition to the worship of Lord Ram and the construction of the Ram Mandir, framing it as antithetical to the nation’s cultural ethos.
PM Modi highlighted the inspirational figure of Lord Ram. He symbolized the embodiment of the values intrinsic to the ‘Idea of India’.
PM asserted that their opposition to the worship of Lord Ram starkly contradicts the spirit of India’s cultural identity.
PM Modi iterated a plethora of principles underpinning his vision of the ‘Idea of India’.
From the enduring principle Satyameva Jayate (Truth alone triumphs) to the ethos of Ahimsa Parmo Dharma (Non-violence is the highest virtue), Modi depicted a vision of India deeply rooted in its ancient wisdom and universal compassion. PM Modi stressed that the ‘Idea of India’ is the essence of the nation’s identity. It is the global voice, extending beyond mere beliefs.
He posited it as a beacon guiding India towards a future marked by inclusivity, environmental stewardship, and global harmony.
PM Modi underscored the resonance of the ‘Idea of India’ with contemporary global imperatives, including the celebration of International Yoga Day and the vision of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’.
