Taking to X, President Murmu posted, “On the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose observed as Parakram Diwas, I pay my humble tribute to one of the greatest sons of Bharat Mata.”

“Netaji is among the most resolute and inspiring figures in India’s freedom struggle. His clarion call for freedom inspired millions of Indians to join the struggle for independence. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, born on 23 January 1897 in Cuttack, Odisha, symbolizes courage and patriotism.

In recognition of his contributions, the Government of India designated his birth anniversary as ‘Parakram Diwas’ in 2021, encouraging citizens, especially youth, to draw inspiration from his bravery and commitment to the nation.

The inaugural Parakram Diwas was observed in 2021 at Kolkata’s Victoria Memorial Hall, and in 2022, a holographic statue of Netaji was unveiled at India Gate.

Additionally, plans are in progress to establish a National Memorial for Netaji on the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep.

Netaji’s life reflects extraordinary courage, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to equality and justice.

Born to a prominent Bengali lawyer, Bose started his studies at Presidency College in Kolkata but faced expulsion in 1916 for his nationalist activities.

He completed his education at Scottish Church College in 1919 and later pursued further studies at the University of Cambridge to prepare for the Indian Civil Service.

Although he passed the civil service examination in 1920, he chose to abandon his career the following year to actively participate in the freedom movement.

Netaji remains an enduring figure of inspiration for generations, epitomizing patriotism and dedication to India’s sovereignty.
