President Droupadi Murmu Arrives In Prayagraj For Maha Kumbh; Takes Holy Dip At Triveni Sangam

President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, to participate in the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. The President was warmly welcomed by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath upon her arrival.

President Receives Warm Welcome In Prayagraj

The Rashtrapati Bhavan shared the news on social media platform X, confirming that both the Governor and the Chief Minister were present to receive President Murmu.
“Governor of Uttar Pradesh Smt. Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received President Droupadi Murmu on her arrival at Prayagraj,” the statement read.

Spiritual Engagement ATriveni Sangam

During her visit, President Murmu also participated in the spiritual practices of the Kumbh Mela.

She is expected to take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers, a sacred ritual for millions of devotees. After arriving, the President also fed migratory birds at the Triveni Sangam, further engaging in the traditions of the event.

Uttarakhand CM Takes Holy Dip At Triveni Sangam

Earlier on the same day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, accompanied by his family, visited Prayagraj and took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam.

Dhami spoke to ANI, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity. He described the experience as “fortunate” and emphasized the significance of the Kumbh Mela for devotees worldwide.

In addition, Dhami provided an update on preparations for the Kumbh Mela 2027, which will take place in Haridwar. He assured that the planning for the event is already underway.

“People from all over the world are coming here for a holy dip of faith… I consider myself fortunate to be able to come here. The Kumbh of 2027 will be in Haridwar, and we have already started preparations for it,” he said.

Record Participation At Maha Kumbh Mela 2025

The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 continues to attract massive participation. According to the Uttar Pradesh government, approximately 8.429 million devotees took a holy dip on Sunday alone, with the total number of devotees surpassing 420 million to date.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on Paush Purnima (January 13, 2025), is recognized as the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering.
