The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is ramping up preparations for Maha Kumbh 2025, unveiling plans to showcase India’s rich cultural and mythological heritage, with a centerpiece featuring 26 intricately carved sculptures of iconic figures from Indian mythology and history set to adorn major intersections across Prayagraj
The statues, including Arjuna, Garuda, Nandi, Airavat, and Maa Ganga, will greet devotees and tourists at key junctions in the city.
These installations aim to provide a visual treat while immersing visitors in the grandeur of India’s ancient traditions.
The work on six intersections has already been completed, with the remaining 20 set to be finished within a week.
Each artist carefully places the statues to represent their mythological or cultural significance.
For example, Arjuna’s statue will adorn the DPS intersection, while Nandi will stand proudly at the Airport intersection.
Highlights include Maa Ganga performing an Aarti at the Harshvardhan intersection, Samudragupta at another key point, and Shravan Kumar, symbolizing devotion, at a prominent crossing.
Other notable works include Major Dhyan Chand, Airavat, and the Muni bath tableau at Alopi Bagh.
Authorities are implementing smart traffic management systems to ensure smooth movement for the estimated 45 crore devotees expected during the Maha Kumbh.
Most of the traffic arrangements at these intersections are nearing completion.
Additionally, the officials are prioritizing the city’s beautification.
Green belts and horticultural displays at crossings aim to enhance Prayagraj’s cultural and environmental appeal.
These efforts align with CM Yogi’s vision to make Maha Kumbh 2025 an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
The sculptural installations and beautification initiatives are likely to make Maha Kumbh 2025 not only a spiritual gathering but also a celebration of India’s rich heritage and diversity.
