Prayagraj Maha Kumbh: A Spiritual Gathering & Livelihood Booster

The Prayagraj Maha Kumbh has not only been a grand spiritual gathering but also a major source of livelihood, uplifting the lives of millions, including auto drivers, food vendors, and boatmen.

Among the many success stories, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the inspiring journey of a boatman’s family from Prayagraj during the budget session.

One of the most remarkable success stories is that of Pintu Mahara, a boatman from the Arail area of Prayagraj, who made an astounding Rs 30 crore in just 45 days.

His fortunes changed dramatically when he made a bold decision to expand his fleet ahead of the Maha Kumbh, anticipating a surge in devotees.

From 60 boats, he increased his fleet to 130, a move that proved immensely profitable. Pintu is not alone – thousands of boatmen benefited from the Maha Kumbh, many clearing their debts and now living as lakhpatis.

Reflecting on his journey, Pintu recalls his experience from the 2019 Kumbh, organized under the Yogi government.

Expecting an even larger gathering this time, he invested in 70 additional boats, securing his family’s financial future for generations.

For his mother, Shuklavati Devi, the transformation is nothing short of a miracle.

She recalls the struggles after her husband’s passing and credits the Maha Kumbh for changing their lives.

The event’s seamless execution under CM Yogi Adityanath and PM Narendra Modi attracted unprecedented crowds to the Triveni Sangam, turning around the fortunes of countless families like Pintu’s.
