‘Post-2014, India Embraced Cultural Pride’, Says Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh

Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh on Friday highlighted a cultural resurgence in India, attributing it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership since 2014.

Speaking at the launch of a new book titled Sanskriti ka Panchva Adhyay, a compilation of PM Modi’s speeches and thoughts on Indian culture, Harivansh said, “Even after Independence, India remained in the shadow of colonial thinking. It is only after 2014 that we started speaking about our culture and ancient heritage with pride. This credit goes to Prime Minister Modi.”

The event, however, took place at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) on the occasion of World Heritage Day, observed annually on April 18.

Religious Leader Backs PM’s Cultural Vision

Spiritual leader Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshanand Giri, head of Juna Akhara, also addressed the gathering.

He praised PM Modi’s cultural emphasis, saying, “Since Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, there has been a clear shift. People are now engaging with cultural topics with more depth and pride.”

International Yoga Day Highlighted As An Example

Swami Avdheshanand cited the global recognition of International Yoga Day as a testament to PM Modi’s cultural advocacy.

“In 2008, an Indian guru in Europe made a sincere effort to establish International Yoga Day and sought help from the Indian government. In 2016, PM Modi turned that vision into reality,” he said.

“Now, June 21 is celebrated around the world as International Yoga Day, proving Modi’s commitment to India’s cultural heritage,” he further added.

Book Release Celebrates India’s Cultural Renaissance

The book Sanskriti ka Panchva Adhyay captures PM Modi’s views and efforts to preserve and promote India’s ancient heritage.

The event marked a broader recognition of India’s heritage and the growing public discourse around it in recent years.
