Police Shootout In Noida: Two Armed Criminals Injured In Encounter, Loot Worth ₹80 Lakh Recovered

In a police encounter on the night of November 17, 2024, two criminals were injured in a shootout after attempting to evade arrest in Noida. The criminals, riding a motorcycle, failed to stop at a police checkpoint on Dadri Road and fled towards Sector 42. Police chased them, and when the criminals fired at the pursuing officers, the police retaliated in self-defense. Both suspects were shot in the legs and arrested.

Police Encounter in Noida Leads to Arrests

The injured criminals were identified as Noorjamal Sheikh and Rajkumar Vishwas, both wanted for multiple crimes across Noida and Gurugram. Sheikh, a resident of Bardhaman, West Bengal, and Vishwas, from Murshidabad, West Bengal, had been living in Gurugram at Sikandpur Ghosi near DLF Phase One. The police found a significant haul in their possession, including two pistols with live and empty cartridges, cash, and jewelry.

Criminal Records and Recoveries

The suspects are known criminals with several FIRs filed against them. Noorjamal Sheikh has been linked to multiple theft and burglary cases in Gurugram and Noida, while Rajkumar Vishwas also has a string of similar charges. In the police raid, authorities recovered:

  • 02 .315 bore pistols with 02 live cartridges and 02 empty cartridges
  • Jewelry worth approximately ₹80 lakh
  • Cash amounting to ₹1,35,000

The criminals were rushed to the district hospital for treatment. Police are collecting further details of their criminal history. Both are wanted in various ongoing investigations in Noida and Gurugram.
