Police Foil Robbery Attempt In Noida; Accused Injured In Encounter

In a daring operation, Sector 126 Police in Noida thwarted a robbery attempt and apprehended one of the accused after a brief encounter near Ganda Nala today, December 28, 2024.

Police had set up a barrier to check suspicious vehicles and individuals when they spotted two persons riding a bike approaching from the front. As police stopped them, the miscreants attempted to flee, avoiding the barrier. A chase ensued, during which the motorcycle slipped due to a muddy and slippery surface.

Police Retaliate, Accused Injured

Surrounded by police, the miscreants opened fire with the intention of killing them. In self-defense, police retaliated, injuring one of the accused. The accomplice took advantage of the nearby bushes and escaped, prompting a search operation.

The injured accused, identified as Yashwant, son of Balbir, a 22-year-old resident of village Nangla Sapera, Radha Kund police station, Govardhan district, Mathura, confessed to snatching a mobile phone near Sector 94 on December 19, 2024. A loot mobile, a .315 bore pistol, live and empty cartridges, and a Pulsar motorcycle without a number plate recover from his possession.

Investigation Underway

The injured accused is being treated at a hospital, while police are gathering information on his criminal history. The search for the escaped accomplice is ongoing.
