PM Narendra Modi Plants Holy Kadamb Sapling Gifted By King Charles III At His Residence

PM Narendra Modi planted a Kadamb sapling at his official residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi, on Friday. This special sapling was gifted by Britain’s King Charles III as a heartfelt birthday present for PM Modi’s 75th.

The plantation ceremony highlighted PM Modi’s unwavering vision for building a sustainable, greener planet while deepening global partnerships through environmental diplomacy.

King Charles admired PM Modi’s campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and expressed solidarity by sending the sacred Kadamb sapling.

The British High Commission celebrated the gesture online, sharing photos and emphasising shared Indo-UK commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable growth.

The post noted King Charles’s admiration for PM Modi’s unique initiative, encouraging citizens to honour mothers through symbolic tree plantations.

During Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the United Kingdom in July, he reciprocated by gifting King Charles a ‘Sonoma’ tree sapling.

That exchange symbolised mutual respect, translating cultural goodwill into an active climate partnership rooted in shared green commitments.

The British High Commission highlighted collaboration on clean energy and climate action as key pillars of the UK-India Commonwealth vision.

The ceremonial sapling planted by PM Modi carried deeper symbolism, translating mutual environmental dreams into tangible, growing green commitments.

Nation Joins ‘Sewa Pakhwada’

PM Modi’s 75th birthday celebrations also launched the nationwide ‘Sewa Pakhwada,’ spreading service through blood donation camps and plantation drives.

Odisha led this drive commendably, sowing an astonishing 1.49 crore saplings in a single day as a tribute.

This overwhelming contribution exceeded expectations, turning Odisha’s plantations into an inspiring salute towards the Prime Minister’s environmental mission.

Nationwide, the official target stood at seventy-five lakh saplings, yet Odisha remarkably expanded the campaign’s vision through mass participation.

The plantation momentum reflected India’s translating environmental concern into action, with citizens joining hands to strengthen climate-friendly future commitments.

Symbolically, the Kadamb tree now flourishing at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg embodies friendship, sustainability, and a living Indo-UK connection.
