PM Narendra Modi Meets Rolls-Royce CEO To Discuss India Expansion Plans

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with Rolls-Royce Chief Executive Officer Tufan Erginbilgic to discuss the company’s expansion strategy in India.

The Prime Minister shared details of the interaction in a recent post, highlighting Rolls-Royce’s intent to deepen its operational footprint in the country.

The talks focused on expanding the Global Capability Centre in India and deepening manufacturing and engineering partnerships. Both sides explored avenues to enhance technological collaboration and innovation-driven growth.

The engagement, however, reflects growing industrial cooperation between India and the United Kingdom.

An image released by Rolls-Royce shows Prime Minister Modi, CEO Erginbilgic and senior representatives in a formal setting. It highlights institutional engagement and reflects high-level corporate and governmental collaboration.

The visual symbolises expanding bilateral economic ties.

Rolls-Royce’s proposed expansion aligns with India’s broader industrial ambitions under the ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision.

The government aims to transform India into a developed nation by 2047 through sustained economic reforms, innovation-led growth and youth empowerment.

The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of global enterprises partnering with India’s skilled workforce and robust innovation ecosystem.

The proposed scaling of the Global Capability Centre signals confidence in India’s engineering talent and digital infrastructure.

Industry observers note that such investments enhance high-value employment, strengthen supply chains and boost advanced manufacturing capabilities.

Early public responses to the announcement reflected optimism.

Commentators welcomed the prospect of increased foreign direct investment in technology and manufacturing sectors.

Many viewed the development as further validation of India’s rising attractiveness as a global production and research hub.

The meeting forms part of a broader strategy to attract multinational corporations amid strengthening economic partnerships following major announcements since 2025.

The government continues to position India as a competitive destination for research, design and industrial production.

Rolls-Royce’s expansion plans reinforce India’s ambition to integrate deeper into global value chains.

The engagement also highlights the administration’s continued focus on fostering cross-border corporate alliances to accelerate growth, innovation and long-term economic resilience.
