PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah Extend Wishes On Gujarat Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended greetings to the people of Gujarat on the occasion of Gujarat Day, highlighting the state’s rich history, vibrant culture and strong contribution to India’s progress.

In a message shared on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister described Gujarat as a land of remarkable spirit, noting that its dynamic and enterprising people have played a significant role in driving the nation’s growth. He expressed hope that the state will continue to scale new heights of development in the future.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his greetings, describing Gujarat as a land of glorious history, rich culture and strong entrepreneurial spirit. He emphasised the state’s contributions to nation-building across various phases, from the independence movement to economic development, cooperation and self-employment.

Shah further noted that Gujarat has effectively preserved and promoted its cultural heritage both within the country and globally, reflecting the spirit of unity. He also expressed wishes for the prosperity and well-being of the people, invoking the blessings of Lord Somnath.

Gujarat Day is observed annually on May 1 to mark the formation of the state in 1960, following its separation from the erstwhile Bombay State. The occasion celebrates Gujarat’s cultural identity and achievements, with events and programmes organised across the state.
