Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on an elephant and jeep safari in Assam’s Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve on Saturday morning, marking a significant visit to the renowned sanctuary.
Expressing his delight, PM Modi tweeted, “A memorable visit to Kaziranga. I invite people from all over the world to come here.”
He first embarked on an elephant safari in the Mihimukh area of the Central Kohora Range, followed by a jeep safari within the same range. During his excursion, he had the opportunity to feed sugar cane to elephants and marvel at the diverse wildlife.
Sharing his experience on social media, PM Modi highlighted the park’s biodiversity, emphasizing not only the famed one-horned rhinoceros but also the presence of numerous elephants and other species, showcasing the unparalleled beauty of Kaziranga landscapes.
Accompanied by park director Sonali Ghosh and other senior forest officials, the Prime Minister’s visit underscored the importance of conservation efforts in preserving natural habitats.
PM Modi’s visit to Kaziranga commenced on Friday evening as part of his two-day itinerary in the state, further reinforcing the significance of Kaziranga National Park as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a sanctuary for diverse wildlife, including the iconic one-horned rhinoceros.

Established in 1974, Kaziranga National Park remains a bastion of untouched wilderness in eastern India, characterized by dense forests, towering elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshes, and shallow pools, making it a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists alike.
