PM Modi, Yogi Adityanath Extend Navratri Wishes; Highlight Devotion To Maa Durga

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings on the fifth day of Chaitra Navratri. He wished devotees strength and renewed determination.

Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “The blessings of Maa Durga bring new energy and new resolve in the lives of devotees. This Devi Bhajan by Anuradha Paudwal will fill you with devotion.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also shared Anuradha Paudwal’s devotional song Durga Amritwani, encouraging followers to immerse themselves in devotion.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered prayers to Goddess Katyayani, the sixth manifestation of Maa Durga.

In a post on social media, he recited a Sanskrit shloka and described Goddess Katyayani as the destroyer of fear, disease, and sorrow.

“Adishakti, the sixth form of Maa Durga, Mahishasurmardini, Maa Katyayani is the destroyer of fear, disease, and sorrow,” UP CM posted on X.

He further added, “By the grace of Adishakti Maa Katyayani, the world should be well, and everyone’s life should be healthy, full of happiness and prosperity — this is my prayer. Jai Maa Katyayani!”

Goddess Katyayani is venerated as a fierce form of Mahadevi and is known for slaying the demon Mahishasura.

She is the sixth among the Navadurgas, the nine divine forms of Goddess Durga worshipped during Navratri.

As per the ‘Amarakosha’, a renowned Sanskrit lexicon, Katyayani is another name for Adi Parashakti.

She traditionally appears with three eyes and four hands, holding a sword and a lotus while granting boons and protection.

A lion and a crescent moon on her forehead symbolize her divine presence.

Navratri, meaning ‘nine nights’ in Sanskrit, dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga and her various manifestations.

Devotees across India observe this festival with prayers, temple visits, and rituals, seeking divine blessings for protection and prosperity.
