PM Modi With Global Leaders Wish Former US President Joe Biden A Swift Recovery Following Cancer Diagnosis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed his concern over the health of former US President Joe Biden, who was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer.

In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi wished Biden a ‘quick and full recovery’, while also extending support to his wife, Dr Jill Biden, and the rest of the Biden family.

PM Modi Sends Support To The Biden Family

PM Modi’s heartfelt message came after Biden’s office disclosed that the 82-year-old former president was battling a particularly aggressive form of prostate cancer, which has spread to the bones.

“Deeply concerned to hear about @JoeBiden‘s health. Extend our best wishes to him for a quick and full recovery. Our thoughts are with Dr. Jill Biden and the family, PM Modi posted. 

Biden’s office shared that his diagnosis followed the discovery of a prostate nodule after he reported worsening urinary symptoms.

Tests later confirmed the presence of a high-grade cancer with a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5), which indicated metastasis to the bone.

However, the statement also noted that the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which may allow for more effective management.

Last week, doctors examined former President Joe Biden after he experienced increasing urinary symptoms and discovered a new prostate nodule.

On Friday, they diagnosed him with prostate cancer, characterised by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) and metastasis to the bone.

While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management,” the statement read.

Barack Obama Offers Prayers For Biden’s Recovery

Former US President Barack Obama also took to social media to offer his prayers for Biden’s swift recovery.

Obama, along with his wife, Michelle, expressed their full support for the Biden family during this challenging time.

Obama shared his confidence that Biden would tackle this health challenge with his usual determination and resilience.

“Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family. Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery,” Obama posted on X.

Donald Trump Extends Best Wishes For A Successful Recovery

US President Donald Trump also expressed his sadness regarding Biden’s diagnosis and extended his warm wishes for a speedy recovery.

Trump, along with his wife Melania, shared their support for the Biden family during this difficult time.

“Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
