PM Modi Visits Rain Forest, Vaman Vriksha Vatika In Ekta Nagar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Rain Forest and Vaman Vriksha Vatika in Gujarat’s Ekta Nagar on Saturday as part of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations marking the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

In a post on X, PM Modi described the Rain Forest in Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, as a wonderful experience for visitors, highlighting its lush greenery and natural surroundings. He further drew attention to its glass skywalk, which offers visitors a unique experience and views of the Statue of Unity.

Spread across 12 acres, the Rain Forest recreates a rainforest environment with artificial rainfall throughout the year.

Developed by the Gujarat government at a cost of Rs 14.30 crore, the attraction features 20 rain-gun towers, waterfalls, bubble fountains and trees representing different regions of India. Its main attraction is a circular glass skywalk made up of 132 panels of 35-mm-thick glass, allowing visitors to walk above the forest landscape.

PM Modi visited Vaman Vriksha Vatika, another nature-themed attraction in Ekta Nagar’s tourism circuit.

Earlier, the Prime Minister paid floral tributes to Patel at the Statue of Unity and inaugurated 23 projects while launching eight others.

The 31 tourism and infrastructure projects involve a combined investment of Rs 426.71 crore. Major attractions include a Rs 50-crore IRCTC hotel, a Rs 16-crore Ekta Cruise and a Rs 3.67-crore Eco Trail.

PM Modi will likely attend the National Unity Day programme, featuring the Ekta Parade, cultural performances and a presentation titled ‘Naxal Mukt Bharat’ involving around 2,000 artistes from 126 Left-Wing Extremism-affected districts.

Another performance will celebrate ‘Vande Mataram’ with around 5,000 artistes from across India.
