Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday praised the BJP government in Rajasthan for laying a strong foundation for long-term development. Speaking at an event marking the completion of one year of the Bhajan Lal Sharma government, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for 24 projects worth over Rs 46,300 crore. These projects span energy, roads, railways, and water infrastructure, including the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP).
PM Modi commended the state government’s focus on good governance and its efforts to uplift poor families, women, labourers, Vishwakarmas, and nomadic tribes. He said the government had swiftly delivered on its promises, ensuring rapid implementation of infrastructure projects.
PM Modi highlighted the delay in implementing the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) under the previous government. He announced that the BJP government had approved and expanded the project, which aims to interlink 11 rivers. This initiative will transform Rajasthan from a water-deficient to a water-surplus state.
The PM also noted the agreement between Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh to link the Chambal River and its tributaries, including Parbati, Kalisindh, and Gambhiri. He said the project would provide irrigation and drinking water to 21 districts in Rajasthan, accelerating regional development.
PM Modi emphasized the government’s commitment to creating jobs and ensuring transparency in recruitment processes. Prime Minister highlighted the thousands of job opportunities generated by the BJP government in Rajasthan over the past year. He contrasted this progress with the legacy of paper leaks and employment scams under the previous administration.
He also praised Rajasthan’s efforts to reduce fuel prices and credited the Centre’s PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana for directly transferring funds to farmers’ accounts, with additional support from the state government.
PM Modi expressed optimism about Rajasthan’s future, envisioning a state free from water scarcity and brimming with opportunities for growth.
