Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked Chhattisgarh’s 25th Foundation Day with the inauguration of multiple development projects worth over ₹14,260 crore during the Rajat Mahotsav in Nava Raipur.
The projects, spanning roads, energy, healthcare, industry, and rural empowerment, underscored the government’s vision of inclusive and sustainable growth.
On his day-long visit to the tribal-dominated state, PM Modi focused on enhancing infrastructure, improving connectivity, and fostering entrepreneurship across Chhattisgarh.
Opening the ceremony, the Prime Minister launched 12 new Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) blocks across nine districts, aimed at promoting micro-enterprises in rural areas. He also joined the Griha Pravesh of 3.51 lakh homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) and released ₹1,200 crore as instalments to three lakh beneficiaries, ensuring secure housing for rural families.
Connectivity took centre stage with the foundation stone for a ₹3,150 crore four-lane Greenfield Highway from Pathalgaon-Kunkuri to the Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand border under the Bharatmala Pariyojana.
The highway will link industrial zones in Korba, Raigarh, Jashpur, and Ranchi, creating a major economic corridor between Central and Eastern India.
PM Modi also launched the upgradation of NH-130D across Bastar and Narayanpur and inaugurated the two-lane expansion of NH-130C to the Odisha border, improving access to education, healthcare, and trade in tribal regions.
In the energy sector, the Prime Minister inaugurated the ER–WR Interconnection Project, boosting grid transfer capacity by 1,600 MW. He also launched energy projects worth over ₹3,750 crore, including the ₹1,860 crore RDSS works to strengthen power supply in rural areas.
Additionally, nine new substations worth ₹480 crore and transmission projects worth ₹1,415 crore will bring reliable electricity to over 15 lakh people across several districts.
Energy security advanced with the inauguration of the ₹1,950 crore Nagpur-Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline and HPCL’s ₹460 crore Raipur Petroleum Depot, promoting a clean and stable energy supply.
The Prime Minister also laid foundation stones for two Smart Industrial Areas in Janjgir-Champa and Rajnandgaon, and a Pharmaceutical Park in Nava Raipur to boost healthcare manufacturing.
Five new Government Medical Colleges and an Ayurveda College in Bilaspur were also announced, expanding medical education and access in the state.
PM Modi said the projects symbolise Chhattisgarh’s transformation ‘from aspiration to achievement’, steering the state towards the national goal of Viksit Bharat 2047.
