PM Modi To Visit Tamil Nadu, Puducherry On Feb 28–March 1; AIIMS Madurai, Rail Projects, NDA Rally Planned

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Tamil Nadu on February 28 for a two-day visit covering Chennai, Puducherry and Madurai, combining official engagements, infrastructure launches, spiritual visits and political programmes.

He is scheduled to land in Chennai on Saturday evening and stay overnight at the Raj Bhavan.

On March 1, the Prime Minister will travel to Puducherry to participate in an official government function.

Following the event, he will address a public meeting organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), marking a significant political outreach in the Union Territory.

After concluding his engagements in Puducherry, PM Modi will proceed to Madurai in Tamil Nadu.

During his visit, he is likely to offer prayers at the Tirupparankundram Subramanya Swamy Temple, one of the six sacred abodes of Lord Murugan and a major spiritual landmark in the state.

In Madurai, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital, a key healthcare project aimed at strengthening medical infrastructure in the region.

He will also launch several development initiatives through video conferencing, reinforcing the Centre’s focus on expanding healthcare and public services in southern India.

Railway officials said PM Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several Southern Railway projects in Madurai.

Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, he will open renovated stations at Morappur, Bommidi, Pollachi, Karaikudi, Srivilliputhur, Cholavandan, Tiruvarur and Manapparai, aimed at upgrading passenger amenities.

PM Modi will also flag off new trains on key routes to boost connectivity, trade and tourism.

Later, he will address an NDA rally in Madurai. Police have tightened security, as the visit combines an infrastructure push with political outreach in the southern states.
