On Saturday, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi will start his two-day visit to Assam. While there, he will meet with the state core committee of the BJP and unveil development projects that will cost about ₹11,600 crore. At 7.30 pm, the Prime Minister is expected to arrive at Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport. From there, he will travel to the Koinadhora State Guest House.
On Friday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the PM will meet with the state core committee of the BJP at night to talk about party matters. Sunday at 11.30 am, Modi will give a speech to the public at the Veterinary College Playground in Khanapara. From there, a number of state and federal initiatives will be launched.

The foundation stones for several major projects will be laid, including the ₹498 crore Kamakhya temple corridor, the ₹358 crore six-lane road from the new airport terminal in Guwahati, the ₹831 crore FIFA-standard upgrade of Nehru Stadium, and the ₹300 crore new sports complex in Chandrapur. The PM will also launch Asom Mala roads, the second edition. This phase would cost ₹3,444 crore in total and include 43 new roads and 38 concrete bridges.
In addition, Modi will lay the cornerstone for the ₹3,250 crore integrated new Gauhati Medical College and Hospital complex. In addition, he will lay the cornerstones for the ₹297-crore Unity Mall in Guwahati and the ₹578-crore projected Karimganj Medical College and Hospital.
Modi will also officially open two recently built four-lane roads: one from Dolabari to Jamuguri, which cost ₹592 crore, and the other from Biswanath Chariali to Gohpur, which cost ₹1,451 crore. “In total, the prime minister will lay foundation stones or inaugurate projects worth ₹11,599 crore, funded by both state government and the Centre,” the chief minister stated. On Sunday, Modi is expected to return following the show.
