PM Modi To Mark Sardar Patel’s 151st Birth Anniversary With Rs 426.71 Crore Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay floral tributes at the Statue of Unity in Gujarat on Saturday, marking the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The ceremony is scheduled for around 9 AM.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 31 tourism and infrastructure projects in the Statue of Unity area.

The projects have a combined investment of Rs 426.71 crore. Of these, 23 projects worth Rs 307.83 crore will be inaugurated, while foundation stones will be laid for eight projects costing Rs 118.88 crore.

The projects include a Rs 50-crore IRCTC hotel and a Rs 16-crore Ekta Cruise. They feature a Rain Forest attraction worth Rs 14.30 crore and an Eco Trail costing Rs 3.67 crore.

The wider package includes sewage and water treatment plants, travelators, a parade track, staff quarters and road improvements. It covers facade lighting at the Statue of Unity campus and the development of Ekta Prakash Parv.

Earlier on Friday, PM Modi visited Ekta Prakash Parv-2026 at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat’s Narmada district. He further viewed illuminated displays showcasing India’s cultural traditions across four zones representing North, East, West and South India.

The Prime Minister will visit the Rain Forest and Vaman Vriksha Vatika before attending the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations at around 5:30 PM.

The programme will, however, feature an Ekta Parade involving Central Armed Police Forces, state police forces and central police organisations.

The National School of Drama will present a theatrical performance on ‘Naxal Mukt Bharat’, involving around 2,000 artistes from 126 districts affected by Left-Wing Extremism.

Tableaux and cultural performances will follow the theme ‘Vande Mataram’. Around 5,000 artistes from across the country will participate in the larger cultural presentation.
