PM Modi To Launch Vande Bharat Express In Bihar; Inaugurate Key Infrastructure Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Siwan, Bihar, on Friday to launch a series of development initiatives, including the inauguration of a new Vande Bharat Express train and the foundation stone laying of several crucial infrastructure projects.

He will also address a public gathering during the event.

Vande Bharat to connect Patliputra and Gorakhpur via Motihari

The highlight of the visit is the inauguration of the Vande Bharat Express that will run between Patliputra (Bihar) and Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) via Motihari.

This is expected to enhance connectivity and boost economic growth in the region.

Former Union Minister and BJP MP Radha Mohan Singh hailed the development, stating, “This is a moment of great pride for Motihari residents. PM Modi will inaugurate the Vande Bharat Express virtually from Siwan. The train will pass through Motihari, opening immense opportunities for the region.”

Vande Bharat Express timings and frequency

The new train (No. 26502/26501) will run six days a week, except on Saturdays. It will:

  • Depart Gorakhpur at 5:40 am and reach Patliputra at 12:45 pm
  • Depart Patliputra at 3:30 pm and arrive in Gorakhpur at 10:30 pm

This marks the 72nd Vande Bharat train operational in the country.

Multiple infrastructure projects to be inaugurated

Alongside the Vande Bharat Express, PM Modi will launch multiple schemes:

  • He will lay the foundation for 187 km of sewage construction in Motihari under the AMRUT 2.0 Mission, aimed at improving urban infrastructure.
  • He will inaugurate the Vaishali–Deoria railway line project, estimated at ₹400 crore.

Focus on clean water and river conservation

Reaffirming his commitment to the Namami Gange project, PM Modi will:

  • Inaugurate six Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) worth over ₹1,800 crore.
  • Lay the foundation stone for water supply, sanitation, and STPs across Bihar with a total value of over ₹3,000 crore.

These projects aim to provide clean drinking water and improve sanitation infrastructure across urban Bihar.

Boost to urban housing under PMAY-U

The Prime Minister will also:

  • Release the first instalment to over 53,600 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) in Bihar.
  • Hand over keys to a few selected beneficiaries as part of a Grih Pravesh ceremony for 6,600 completed homes under the scheme.

PM Modi’s visit has sparked joy and anticipation among residents across Bihar, particularly in Motihari and Siwan, as they prepare to welcome major developmental upgrades that promise better connectivity, sanitation, clean water, and housing.
