PM Modi To Launch Projects Worth Over Rs 7,000 Crore In Tamil Nadu, Puducherry

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on Sunday to dedicate development projects worth over Rs 7,000 crore to the nation and lay foundation stones for key initiatives.

In Puducherry, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects valued at over Rs 2,700 crore and address a public gathering, according to an official statement.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the four-laning of the Marakkanam–Puducherry section of NH-332A and the Paramakudi–Ramanathapuram section of NH-87. The Marakkanam–Puducherry upgrade is expected to ease urban traffic congestion and cut travel time from nearly one hour to about 30 minutes.

Later in the day in Madurai, PM Modi will launch projects worth over Rs 4,400 crore at a public meeting. Around 4 p.m., he is scheduled to offer prayers at the Arulmigu Subramaniyaswamy Temple.

Rail, Industrial Development in Focus

The Prime Minister will inaugurate and dedicate rail infrastructure projects aimed at improving passenger convenience, operational efficiency and connectivity in the state.

Eight railway stations redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme will be inaugurated: Morappur, Bommidi, Srivilliputtur, Sholavandan, Manaparai, Pollachi Junction, Karaikkudi Junction and Thiruvarur Junction.

In Puducherry, PM Modi will dedicate the 750-acre Karasur-Sedarapet Industrial Estate to the nation.

The estate will include a Pharma Park, Textile Park, IT Park, a state-of-the-art research and development centre of Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and advanced healthcare facilities of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research. The project is expected to boost industrial growth and generate employment in the region.
