On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to formally open the Pachpadra Refinery in Rajasthan’s Balotra district, marking a key development in the country’s energy and industrial sector.
Local authorities have made extensive preparations for the inauguration event at Pachpadra, expecting a large public turnout.
Special arrangements have been introduced to manage the extreme heat, with efforts focused on ensuring comfort and safety for attendees.
District officials, including Collector Sushil Kumar Yadav, said cooling measures such as misting systems and desert coolers have been installed across the venue.
The mist system, being used at the site for the first time, is designed to reduce temperatures by releasing fine water droplets into the air.
In addition, multiple drinking water points have been set up, with volunteers assigned to assist visitors. Buttermilk distribution has also been arranged to help people cope with the high temperatures.
Parking and access plans have been structured to minimise walking distance. Most visitors are expected to reach the venue within a short distance from designated parking zones.
The refinery is expected to play an important role beyond fuel production. It will generate various petrochemical products that can be used as raw materials for industries in the region.
These outputs are likely to support manufacturing across several sectors, including plastics, textiles, automotive components, and chemical products.
Officials believe this could encourage the development of related industries and strengthen Rajasthan’s position in value-added manufacturing.
The project is seen as a major step towards boosting industrial growth and economic activity in the state. It also contributes to the country’s broader energy infrastructure.
