Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a series of major development projects in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, on March 11.
Sharing details of the upcoming programme on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister said the projects will span several sectors, including petroleum, natural gas, roads and railways.
These initiatives are expected to strengthen infrastructure and improve connectivity across the state.
“In Tiruchirappalli tomorrow, I will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects covering petroleum, natural gas, roads, railways and more,” PM Modi said in his post.
A key highlight of the programme will be the foundation stone laying for the City Gas Distribution (CGD) Network of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited in the districts of Nilgiris and Erode.
The project will expand access to cleaner fuel by providing piped natural gas connections to households, commercial establishments and industries, while strengthening regional energy infrastructure and promoting environmentally friendly fuel use.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate 89 rural road projects to improve connectivity in villages and semi-urban areas of Tamil Nadu.
These projects will ease transportation, improve access to markets and services, and support economic activity in rural regions.
The programme will also feature initiatives related to highway construction and railway infrastructure development as part of the Centre’s strategy to modernise transport networks and strengthen national connectivity.
Officials said the projects in Tiruchirappalli aim to boost regional development, attract investment and generate employment during both construction and operational phases.
