PM Modi To Head Election Roadshow In Nagercoil On April 15

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in a prominent roadshow in Nagercoil on April 15, signalling an intensified campaign by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party president Nainar Nagenthran announced the programme and shared details about the event’s route and scale.

As per Nainar Nagenthran, the procession will move from Vepamoodu Junction to the Vadassery MGR statue, passing through key parts of Nagercoil town.

While officials are still finalising the Prime Minister’s exact itinerary, party workers have already begun extensive preparations to ensure a strong public presence.

Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party indicated that party workers from all six Assembly constituencies in Kanniyakumari district will join the roadshow, along with members of allied NDA parties.

The gathering will emerge as one of the most significant political events in the region during the current election period.

Voicing optimism, Nainar Nagenthran stated that the NDA is aiming to win more than 180 seats in the forthcoming elections.

He pointed to what he described as a noticeable shift in voter sentiment, especially across southern Tamil Nadu, favouring the alliance.

Criticism Directed at Ruling Government

Targeting the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Nainar Nagenthran questioned its handling of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and alleged that it had failed to honour its earlier promise to scrap the exam.

He added that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s stance on the issue has remained clear and consistent.

Responding to the campaign efforts of actor-turned-politician Vijay, Nagenthran dismissed concerns about any major electoral influence, asserting that the NDA currently holds the advantage.

He also criticised delays in the metro rail project, attributing the slow progress to the lack of a comprehensive Detailed Project Report.

In internal discussions, he said K Annamalai continues to campaign across several states.

Referring to the Sathankulam custodial deaths verdict, Nainar Nagenthran said the issue should not be politicised and stressed that the judicial process must proceed independently.

The upcoming roadshow will provide fresh momentum to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) campaign as the state approaches a crucial electoral contest.
