PM Modi to Fulfill his 2013 Vision, Set to Inaugurate AIIMS and IIM in Jammu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarks on a tour of Jammu and Kashmir today, where he will inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Jammu. PM Modi laid the foundation stone for AIIMS Jammu in 2019 and is set to enhance healthcare infrastructure in the region.

In addition to these achievements, PM Modi will also unveil the campus and hostel buildings of IIT Jammu, further enhancing the educational landscape of the area.

With these initiatives, PM Modi’s commitment to empowering the youth and fostering development in Jammu and Kashmir remains unwavering, reflecting his dedication to inclusive growth and prosperity for all regions of the country.

Projects Worth Rs 32 Thousand Crores

Following the AIIMS inauguration, PM Modi will proceed to the Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 32 thousand crores. This substantial investment underscores the government’s dedication to the socio-economic development of Jammu and Kashmir.

AIIMS Campus Features

Situated in Samba Vijaypur, Jammu, the sprawling AIIMS campus spans 227 acres and boasts state-of-the-art facilities. With a total of 720 beds, a 125-seat medical college, a 60-seat nursing college, and a 30-bed Ayush block, the institution is poised to enhance healthcare services in the region significantly. Additionally, the campus includes amenities such as residential hostels for faculty and staff, a guest house, and a shopping complex.

Foundation Stone Laying and Project Inaugurations

PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of several key schemes, including the new terminal building for Jammu Airport and the Common User Facility Petroleum Depot. Additionally, he will inaugurate various railway projects, including the new railway line between Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan and the electrified Baramulla-Srinagar-Banihal block. The launch of the valley’s first electric train and a new rail service between Sangaldan and Baramulla is also on the agenda.

Fulfilling Promise:

The inauguration of AIIMS and the unveiling of major projects underscore PM Modi’s commitment to fulfilling promises made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. These developments align with PM Modi’s vision of inclusive growth and development, ensuring that every region of the country benefits from modern infrastructure and essential services.

What did PM say in his 2013 Lalkar Rally?

In a rallying cry at Lalgarh in December 2013, PM Modi passionately advocated for the establishment of premier educational institutions like IITs and IIMs in Jammu and Kashmir. He fervently questioned, “Shouldn’t there be IITs and IIMs in Jammu? Can’t the youth of this place study and become world-famous?”

Expressing disappointment with the lack of focus on educational development in the region, PM Modi lamented, “Neither the Jammu and Kashmir Government nor the Central Government is involved in the development of educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir!”

Emphasizing the potential of the youth in Jammu and Kashmir, PM Modi urged them to aspire to higher education opportunities. Today, his vision stands realized as he inaugurates the permanent campus of IIM Jammu, fulfilling his promise to provide world-class educational infrastructure in the region

PM Modi on viksit Jammu

“We have taken a ‘sanklap’ of ‘Viksit Jammu and Kashmir’. I have full faith in you and I know that we will make Jammu and Kashmir ‘viksit’. Your dreams remained unfulfilled for the past 70 years. However, Modi will fulfill your dreams in the next few years,” PM Modi said.

He added, “Jammu and Kashmir had to bear the brunt of dynastic politics for decades. They are only concerned about their families, not about your interests, your families. I am happy that Jammu and Kashmir is getting freedom from this dynastic politics.”

He also said, “a developed India means a developed Jammu and Kashmir. A record number of schools, colleges, and universities established in India in the last 10 years; in JK alone, 50 new degree colleges set up.”
