PM Modi To Attend RSS Centenary Celebrations In Delhi Today

PM Narendra Modi will attend the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Wednesday at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre in Delhi as the Chief Guest.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced that the event will begin at 10:30 AM. During the ceremony, PM Modi will unveil a specially designed commemorative postage stamp and coin marking 100 years of the RSS. He will also address the gathering.

Founded in 1925 in Nagpur by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the RSS started as a volunteer-driven organisation dedicated to cultural awareness, discipline, and social responsibility.

Over the past century, it has grown into one of India’s most influential socio-cultural organisations.

The PMO described the RSS as ‘a unique people-nurtured movement for national reconstruction’.

According to the release, the organisation emerged in response to centuries of foreign rule and continues to grow due to the resonance of its vision of India’s national glory rooted in Dharma.

The Sangh focuses on building national character by instilling devotion to the motherland, discipline, self-restraint, courage, and heroism. Its ultimate goal remains Sarvangeena Unnati—the all-round development of the nation.

In the past 100 years, the RSS and its affiliated organisations have contributed significantly to education, healthcare, social welfare, and disaster relief.

RSS volunteers have worked on the frontlines during floods, earthquakes, cyclones, and other natural disasters, providing relief and rehabilitation.

The centenary celebrations aim to honour the organisation’s legacy while recognising its ongoing role in shaping India’s cultural identity and fostering unity across communities.

“The centenary celebrations not only honour the historical achievements of the RSS but also highlight its enduring contributions to India’s cultural journey and its message of national unity,” the PMO statement concluded.
