PM Modi To Address Bureaucrats On National Civil Services Day Tomorrow

PM Modi will address civil servants on Monday to mark the 17th Civil Services Day, highlighting welfare innovation and presenting excellence awards.

PM To Share Governance Mantra With Bureaucrats

At Vigyan Bhawan, PM Modi will outline his approach to governance and public service innovation.

This will be his seventh address at the National Civil Services Day celebrations.

PM Modi Will Present Awards For Excellence In Public Administration

PM Modi will present the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration, which recognise outstanding and innovative contributions made by districts and central or state government bodies.

The awards are given for the effective implementation of priority programmes and innovative public welfare initiatives.

Each award includes a trophy, scroll, and an incentive of ₹20 lakh, intended to support ongoing or future projects benefiting the public.

Government To Showcase Success Stories

The government will release two e-books during the event, one focusing on holistic development, and the other highlighting innovations and success stories related to identified priority programmes.

Organisers will screen a short film showcasing the award-winning initiatives prior to the awards ceremony.

Commemorating Civil Services Day

People across the country observe National Civil Services Day every year on April 21 to recognise the dedication and efforts of civil servants.

The date commemorates Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s address to the first batch of civil service trainees at Metcalfe House, Delhi, in 1947.

Top bureaucrats from across the country will participate in the day-long event. Attendees will include Secretaries, Additional and Joint Secretaries, Deputy and Assistant Secretaries, Chief Secretaries, Resident Commissioners, and District Collectors.

Discussions On Key Governance Themes

Following the awards ceremony, Cabinet Secretary TV Somanathan will chair a plenary session titled ‘Civil Services Reforms, Challenges and Opportunities’.

The event will also feature four breakaway sessions focused on:

  • Urban transportation reform
  • Promoting health through Ayushman Bharat and Ayushman Arogya Mandir
  • Improving women and child nutrition via Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0
  • Implementation of the Aspirational Blocks Programme

The Union government organised the conference to reaffirm its commitment to public service and inspire civil servants to drive change.
