Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday made a surprise visit to the under-construction Dr. Sampurnanand Sports Stadium and Sports Complex in Varanasi to review the work in progress.
This visit came after he attended the Kisan Samman Sammelan, participated in the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, and offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, PM Modi took to social media platform X, stating, “Reviewed the progress at the Dr. Sampurnanand Sports Stadium in Kashi. This stadium and sports complex will greatly help the youth of Kashi.”
In the pictures shared, the Prime Minister interacts with officials over the model of the sports complex and inspects various facilities.
The upcoming sports facility will meet world-class standards, featuring floodlights and lush green outfields. It aims to foster local talent and provide top-notch infrastructure for athletes.
This visit marked PM Modi’s first trip to his constituency after securing a third consecutive victory from Varanasi in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, further highlighting his commitment to the development of the region.
Prime Minister Modi’s surprise visit however underscores the government’s commitment to Varanasi’s development and improving quality of life through enhanced infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the local community eagerly anticipates the sports complex’s completion, expecting it to play a pivotal role in nurturing future sports talent.
